Terms of service

1. Who we are

Bentuk Labs is a digital manufacturing service operating in Malaysia. It produces physical parts from customer-supplied 3D models using fused deposition modelling (FDM) and delivers them by courier.

Our registered business details are provided on every invoice. Where these terms mention “we” or “us”, that means Bentuk Labs; “you” means the person or organisation placing the order.

2. Quotes and estimates

Prices shown in the upload flow are estimates calculated from mesh volume, material rate and estimated machine time. They are not a binding offer until the job has been reviewed or sliced.

A quote is valid for the period stated on it. If a job requires manual review — for size, wall thickness, material or file integrity — we will confirm a final price before production. Nothing is charged before you approve.

If the final figures differ materially from the estimate, we contact you and you may cancel without cost.

3. Orders and payment

An order is accepted when payment is received or when we confirm it in writing. Production slots are not reserved for unpaid orders.

Payment methods currently available are shown at checkout. Taxes are charged only where the business is registered and required to do so; the checkout shows whether tax applies.

4. Production and tolerances

FDM parts carry normal process variation. Unless a dimensional tolerance is agreed in writing before production, parts are produced to general FDM accuracy rather than a specified tolerance.

Colour, surface finish and mechanical properties vary slightly between materials, batches and printers. Cosmetic expectations should be raised before production, not after.

5. Turnaround and delivery

Turnaround figures are working-day estimates from the moment payment clears and the file is approved. Delays caused by couriers, customs or force majeure are outside our control.

Risk passes to you on delivery to the address you supplied. Report damage in transit within 48 hours with photographs so we can raise it with the courier.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the model you upload, for having the right to manufacture it, and for confirming that the part is safe and suitable for its intended use — particularly where failure could cause injury or property damage.

You must not upload models intended to produce prohibited items (see the prohibited items policy).

7. Liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order, except where Malaysian law does not allow that limitation.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, project delay or damage to equipment caused by a printed part. Safety-critical applications must be reviewed with us in writing before ordering.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and it is recorded with the order.
